  • 1 cup Sliced sweet onions Yellow or red onions work well.
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil Essential for sautéing.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
  3. Push vegetables to one side and add seasoned flank steak to the other side. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until browned.
  4. Slice the French bread loaf lengthwise and scoop out some of the soft bread from the middle.
  5. In a bowl, mix the cooked steak and vegetables with shredded provolone cheese. Stuff the mixture into the hollowed-out bread.
  6. Transfer the stuffed loaf to a baking sheet and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes, until golden-brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
