Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together ¼ cup soy sauce, ¼ cup honey, ¼ cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon five-spice powder, 3 minced garlic cloves, and 1 tablespoon grated ginger.
  2. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Coat the chicken thoroughly with your prepared marinade.
  3. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and position an oven rack in the center.
  4. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the marinated chicken skin side up on the sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes, baste the chicken with the pan juices and return it to the oven for an additional 10 minutes. Repeat every 10 minutes.
  6. Once the chicken is nearly done, switch your oven setting to broil for 2-3 minutes.
  7. After broiling, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.
