Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat 6 ounces of softened cream cheese with 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Lay out 8 slices of thick white bread. Spread cream cheese filling on one half of each slice and strawberry jam on the other half. Press the slices together to form sandwiches.
  3. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter to melt and coat the skillet.
  4. Place the sandwiches into the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Flip the sandwiches over and fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until the other side is golden brown.
  6. Transfer the sandwiches onto a plate, dust with extra powdered sugar, and serve with fresh strawberries on the side.
