- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Peel and thinly slice the sweet potatoes, core and chop the apples, and layer them in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle ground cinnamon and nutmeg over the layered sweet potatoes and apples.
- In a small saucepan, combine the maple syrup and butter and heat until melted. Drizzle over the layers.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Allow the dish to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
