Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together cold milk and instant pudding mix for about 2 minutes until thickened. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, beat sweetened condensed milk and cream cheese until smooth. Add vanilla extract and gently fold in Cool Whip.
- Layer one-third of whole vanilla wafers in a 9x13 inch dish, top with half of crushed cookies and one-third of pudding mixture. Spread evenly.
- Slice ripe bananas and layer half over the pudding. Add remaining whole wafers on top before repeating layers.
- Repeat with the remaining pudding mixture, banana slices, and crushed cookies, finishing with a final layer of pudding.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours.
- Before serving, top with additional whole vanilla wafers and optional Chessman cookies. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
