Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cooked and shredded chicken, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, salt, black pepper, and melted butter.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a floured surface and flatten each triangle slightly.
  4. Place a generous spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each dough triangle.
  5. Fold the dough edges over the filling and pinch seams to seal.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg wash and sprinkle with panko breadcrumbs if desired.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While baking, melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour to form a roux.
  9. Gradually add milk and heavy cream, whisking until thickened.
