Equipment

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add bowtie pasta and cook according to package directions, usually about 10-12 minutes, until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain the pasta.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the ground beef, seasoning with salt, pepper, and half of the Cajun seasoning. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce the heat and add the remaining butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add cream cheese to the skillet, stirring until it softens and melts, about 2-3 minutes. Gradually whisk in the milk or half-and-half until smooth.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and remaining Cajun seasoning. Simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return the cooked beef and bowtie pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, or red pepper flakes.
